Proactive vs Reactive IT

The difference between managed IT and break-fix IT is the difference between preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Break-fix costs more in the long run: emergency rates, business disruption while systems are down, data loss from unpatched vulnerabilities, and the hidden cost of employees unable to work.

Managed IT is a predictable monthly cost that covers ongoing system health. We patch operating systems and applications before vulnerabilities are exploited, monitor system health metrics to catch hardware failures before they happen, and respond to helpdesk requests within defined SLAs.

What We Monitor

Our remote monitoring platform tracks: CPU and memory utilization (to catch degradation before it becomes failure), disk space and health metrics including S.M.A.R.T. data for early warning of drive failure, security events and failed authentication attempts, software patch compliance, and backup job success rates.

When monitoring detects an issue — a drive showing reallocated sectors, a backup that failed silently, a system with 30 days of missing security patches — we receive an alert and address it proactively, often before the business user is affected.

Cloud Application Management

Most small businesses run Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace as their core productivity platform. We manage these subscriptions: provision and deprovision users, configure security policies (MFA enforcement, conditional access), manage email routing and spam filtering, and help your team use these platforms effectively.

When someone leaves your company, their access is revoked, their data is transferred to the appropriate person, and their license is reallocated — handled immediately, not whenever you remember to tell your IT person.
